While other factors are important, if you're interested in computer speed, the most relevant piece of information is the clock speed of the CPU. Clock speed is a big determinant of the number of instructions per second your computer can carry out, but bus speed, the specific type of instruction being carried out, the microprocessor and the amount of random access memory (RAM) available to your CPU also play a role.
2. Pen drives holds more data and CDs are easy to break It can be used as virtual memory to speed up your computer. It can be used to save and run programs and software.
3. Multitasking, in an operating system, is allowing a user to perform more than one computer task (such as the operation of an application program) at a time. The operating system is able to keep track of where you are in these tasks and go from one to the other without losing information.

You can only set constraints with primary keys, by setting a foreign key to another column which creates a relationship with the column that has the primary key set. VI. WRITE ANSWERS IN DETAIL:

1a.

The Network allows computers to connect and communicate with different computers via any medium. LAN, MAN and WAN are the three major types of the network designed to operate over the area they cover. There are some similarities and dissimilarities between them. One of the major differences is the geographical area they cover, i.e. LAN covers the smallest area; MAN covers an area larger than LAN and WAN comprises the largest of all.

There are other types of Computer Networks also, like :

  • PAN (Personal Area Network)
  • SAN (Storage Area Network)
  • EPN (Enterprise Private Network)
  • VPN (Virtual Private Network)

1b. Data communications (DC) is the process of using computing and communication technologies to transfer data from one place to another, and vice versa. It enables the movement of electronic or digital data between two or more nodes, regardless of geographical location, technological medium or data contents.

There are several different types of computer networks. Computer networks can be characterized by their size as well as their purpose.
The size of a network can be expressed by the geographic area they occupy and the number of computers that are part of the network.

Some of the different networks based on size are:
~ Personal area network, or PAN
~ Local area network, or LAN
~ Metropolitan area network, or MAN
~ Wide area network, or WAN

Some of the different networks based on their main purpose are:
~ Storage area network, or SAN
~ Enterprise private network, or EPN
~ Virtual private network, or VPN

In computing, an icon is a pictogram or ideogram displayed on a computer screen in order to help the user navigate a computer system. The icon itself is a quickly comprehensible symbol of a software tool, function, or a data file, accessible on the system and is more like a traffic sign than a detailed illustration of the actual entity it represents.[1] It can serve as an electronic hyperlink or file shortcut to access the program or data. The user can activate an icon using a mouse, pointer, finger, or recently voice commands. Their placement on the screen, also in relation to other icons, may provide further information to the user about their usage.[2] In activating an icon, the user can move directly into and out of the identified function without knowing anything further about the location or requirements of the file or code.

Icons as parts of the graphical user interface of the computer system, in conjunction with windowsmenus and a pointing device (mouse), belong to the much larger topic of the history of the graphical user interface that has largely supplanted the text-based interface for casual use.

2b. Linux Operating System has primarily three components
Kernel − Kernel is the core part of Linux. It is responsible for all major activities of this operating system. It consists of various modules and it interacts directly with the underlying hardware. Kernel provides the required abstraction to hide low level hardware details to system or application programs.
System Library − System libraries are special functions or programs using which application programs or system utilities accesses Kernel's features. These libraries implement most of the functionalities of the operating system and do not requires kernel module's code access rights.
System Utility − System Utility programs are responsible to do specialized, individual level tasks.

Following are some of the important features of Linux Operating System.
Portable − Portability means software can works on different types of hardware in same way. Linux kernel and application programs supports their installation on any kind of hardware platform.

Open Source − Linux source code is freely available and it is community based development project. Multiple teams work in collaboration to enhance the capability of Linux operating system and it is continuously evolving.

Multi-User − Linux is a multiuser system means multiple users can access system resources like memory/ ram/ application programs at same time.

Multiprogramming − Linux is a multiprogramming system means multiple applications can run at same time.

Hierarchical File System − Linux provides a standard file structure in which system files/ user files are arranged.

Shell − Linux provides a special interpreter program which can be used to execute commands of the operating system. It can be used to do various types of operations, call application programs. etc.

Security − Linux provides user security using authentication features like password protection/ controlled access to specific files/ encryption of data.

Uploading website files is one of the very first steps users have to take in order to publish their creation on the Internet.
Before you begin this guide you’ll need the following:
  • Access to the control panel of your hosting account
  • Your website’s files (preferably compressed in a .zip or .tar.gz format archive)
  • (Optional) An FTP client and FTP login details of your hosting account
1. Navigate to your control panel’s Files category and open File Manager
2. After that, go to the public_html directory, which is the root directory of your domain (for example: http://www.domainname.com/). Your files should be uploaded there. The directory may also be changed depending on what URL you want it be accessed from. In case you want the content to show up on http://www.domainname.com/something/ your content would need to be located on public_html/something directory.
3.To start uploading, right-click with your mouse and select Upload files option.
Find your compressed backup via Select Files section, press Upload to proceed and wait for the transfer to finish.
4. To unzip your archive, right-click it and press Extract.
You will then need to select the extraction directory. In this example, the installation will be uploaded to public_html/test directory.
To relocate your files, select them all, right-click and press Move. In this example, we have moved the content from public_html/test to public_html.
Once the content is located in your desired location, you will be able to access it using any browser.
