Linux is an Operating System developed by Linus Torvalds. He is a Finnish-American Software Engineer. He developed the Linux Kernel based on Unix.

Linux is an OpenSource software whereas Windows is an Proprietory Software. Linux is also called a Graphical User Interface like Windows. Another Operating System MS-DOS is called a Command Line Interface.
